                                                                         Puppy Sale Contract

                                                  PLEASE READ THOROUGHLY AND CAREFULLY


    I guarantee my pups to be in good health, free from infectious diseases, and shots up to date when picked up by the buyer. Every effort has been made to ensure that your puppy is healthy in body and mind. Please have the pup vet checked within 72 hours of purchase (excluding weekends and holidays, unless your vet is open Saturday's). There is no refund or exchanges after purchase. The only time money will be refunded is if death occurs within 30 days after purchase. We MUST know the exact cause of death for this to happen. If death happens to occur within 30 days, a autopsy MUST be preformed to determine the exact cause, if you wish to get a refund. The buyer is responsible for all costs. All vet bills are the responsibility of the buyer. Our contract does not include poisoning, accidents, negligence, hypoglycemia, (low blood sugar) or any canine diseases and conditions (viral or bacterial infections, such as viruses we vaccinate for or infectious diseases your puppy may pick up at your vets office, dog parks, pet stores etc.) Our contract also does not include fungal infections, intestinal parasites, protzoal diseases such as coccidiosis or giardia. These are also things that can be picked up at your dog park, pet store etc. It is advised that if you take your puppy into a store, that you take precautions to not put it down or let people touch it. This could potentially spread disease to your puppy. There is no guarantee against congenital, or genetic defect unless stated otherwise in this contract. If there is a serious life threatening problem, I will exchange for another pup as soon as one is ready to go. I will need a letter from your vet stating the problem, and I will have my vet check as well before exchange. No money will be refunded unless agreed otherwise. If a refund occurs, it will be upon our convenience. There are no guarantees on size, ear set, color, breeding, hunting, or show quality. Although all of our dogs have great temperaments, there is no guarantee on the temperament of the puppy once it leaves our home. Anyone accused of abusing, neglecting, or abandoning their puppy/dog for any reason, relinquishes ownership back to us (the breeder) immediately! This includes any puppies/dogs that end up in shelters, rescues, or in police care for any reason. The buyer will be responsible for ALL costs to get the Rat Terrier back to us (the breeder). If you ever wish to breed the Rat Terrier you purchase from us, you agree to test the sire and dam for PLL (primary lens luxation). The breeding MUST be pure and to another Rat Terrier. We can not stress this enough. If you ever plan to breed the puppy you purchase from us, females must be 2 years old before breeding and PLL tested. Males must be minimum of 1 year old to be used as stud, and PLL tested. This gives them plenty of time to mature and point out any obvious flaws that should not be bred. If anyone is going to breed a puppy purchased from us, we insist it be done responsibly and with care. This means you will do everything humanely possible to prevent accidental litters. We would also like the offspring sold in the same matter. This means that you, under no circumstances, will sell puppies to a pet shop, dealer, or agent of either. If this happens, you immediately relinquish ownership of the Rat Terrier you purchased from us, back to us. It is your responsibility to keep the puppy you purchase from us free from harm and bad interactions with other people and animals. If you at no point in time wish to breed the dog you purchase from us, please have spay/neuter completed at the appropriate age. The parents of this litter have tested clear for PLL and will not develop PLL as a result of the mutation we are testing for. However, we can not exclude the possibility they may develop lens luxation due to other causes such as trauma or the effect of other, unidentified mutations.

You agree that I have provided registration papers and health records. You will find health records on the next page.
You agree that if at any time during the life time of your Rat Terrier, should you find that you are no longer able to properly care for the dog, we (the breeder) reserves first rights and he/she is to come back to us free of charge, before going to any third party, (to family, friends, etc). The buyer is responsible for transportation costs.
You agree to never place the Rat Terrier in a shelter, pound, research laboratory, or similar facilities.
You have been made aware of all the terms on the sale of this puppy.
The Rat Terrier is never to be resold. He/she is to come back to us, free of charge if you wish to get rid of him/her. The buyer is responsible for transportation costs.
You agree to provide us with monthly updates/pictures to the best of your ability. We would love to know about the pups progress.
If the Rat Terrier you purchase from us is ever to be euthanized, we must know why and confirm before the procedure is done. The reasoning may be something we feel we can help.
We require our puppies to have our kennel name (JnG's) included in the beginning of their registration name. Please respect this and fulfill this very simple task. (Example: JnG's Name Of Your Choice).
This contract is to be read and signed prior to leaving with your puppy. If you do not agree with anything on this contract, our puppies are not a good fit for you.
